Be a Featured Artist at Shiny Designs

Jennifer Suzanne of Bug-a-Doodle Designs makes colorful mixed media art and art journals to express her joy in all of creation.

Want to be a guest artist on the Shiny Designs shop and Facebook Page? All you have to do is ask!

Come along for fun and showcase your creative work along with other artists just like you. Don't worry about being afraid to share your work - I'll make sure it looks great and you'll be proud to show everyone what you've accomplished.

Every other week, I'll be spotlighting work from guest artists in the banner of the Shiny Designs shop, Facebook page and Creative Team Group. All you have to do is send me a note telling me a little about yourself and I'll send you a reply with the address to send an image file of the work you're submitting and the date your work will appear. It's that simple!

So, how do I know it's going to look great?

I'll make some cropping magic on my end to show off the best parts of your work. Now, that does mean that the image that will be published won't be the full image you submitted, but it will definitely show the essence of your style.

Why am I turning my shop over to you?

Because I want you to have the joy of creating and sharing your art! It can be hard to start sharing your work, especially if you're not sure of yourself and your creative abilities. I believe that the best way to be creative is to practice creativity - it's a skill, so the more you do it, the better you get. That's why I'm offering you a friendly hand getting started.

Will I get credit?

Why yes, you will. I'll put your name right in the image with your featured artwork. It's not exactly your name in lights, but it's still pretty special! Of course, you retain complete rights and control over your work - you're just allowing me to display it for a short time.

Any type of art?

Yes, any art you've created. That includes pages (or portions of pages) from your art journal, paintings, doodles, bookmarks, digital art - pretty much anything you've made. It must be family friendly and I do reserve the right to not publish something that I think inappropriate for the site.

How do I send it to you?

First, you'll need to create a clear, high resolution image. That can mean scanning your work or snapping a photo with your phone. Just make sure it's well-lit, in focus and has a resolution of at least 150 dpi - on your phone, set your image size to the largest or second largest and that should be fine. Then, attach that file when you reply to my email.

Come along with me and let's make some art!

Just to be clear, when you submit an image, you are allowing me permission to display the image, or portions of it, on my web properties for a limited time. If at any time before the expiration date, you want me to remove it, just send me a note and I'll take it down immediately.

Now, let's get to the good stuff! Click on that little black button on the right that says "Contact" and tell me about yourself. Be sure to spell your name  exactly as you want it to appear, then click send and I'll reply to you with the submission address!
